Give a talk at Manning Clark House
Our evening talks are given by academics, retired politicians, public speakers, advocates and many others with something to say. If you would like to speak at MCH you can either hire our venue (for a private event) or register your interest in becoming part of our evening talks program. For either of these options please contact us by phone or email.
Exhibition space hire
Our exhibition calendar is booked six months in advance. If you are interested in solo show in our exhibition space please contact us by phone or email.
We have 10 metres of wall space, extendable to 11 metres, plus plinths for sculptures.
Manning Clark House is a heritage-listed venue available for hire to both members and the public, with discounted rates for members and not-for profit-organisations.
The venue can be hired for conferences, business meetings and social gatherings. Hirers have access to the lounge room, dining room and kitchen of the house and the large grounds.
- use of kitchen equipment including cutlery, glasses and crockery
- tables and chairs
- additional equipment and services available at extra charge eg small marquees, projector and screen, photocopying etc.
- furniture etc can be set up for an additional charge
Capacity – the lounge room, which is the area part of the venue, can hold:
- up to 40 people in “seminar” style
- around 55 for cocktail
- around 20 for a dinner
- 12 for u-shaped business planning days
- Some hirers erect a marquee in the gardens for large events such as weddings

Manning Clark house relies solely on donations and volunteers. If you have a special skill, and are willing to share it with the MCH community, please contact us by email or phone.
Volunteers help with gardening, supervising art exhibitions, book-keeping, marketing, hanging artworks, selling tickets at the door, looking after visiting celebrities and other tasks.
There are many advantages to volunteering: meeting interesting and like-minded people, making contributions to communities you value, using skills that you might not otherwise use, being appreciated by small organisations like ours.
All our volunteers get free entry to all events they have helped with, even if they’re not volunteering on the day.

Manning Clark Choristers
The Manning Clark Choristers, with Choir Leader Fleur Millar, and Pianist Sam Row, return for 2018, following a highly successful series of concerts at Manning Clark House in 2017.
If you would like to become a member of the Choristers, have fun, enjoy meeting a great group of people and singing high quality music, then we would love you to be involved. No previous singing experience necessary and no audition required.
We will be holding some wonderful concerts in 2018, at Manning Clark House and for Fleur-de-lys Vocal Enterprises at fantastic locations in Canberra as well as being joined in concert by some of Canberra’s finest solo singers and young artists. We also be holding regular workshops and lessons in Feldenkrais, Singing and Acting for Singing.
