Dr Henry is an economist, visionary and successful former public servant. He was the Secretary of the Department of the Treasury from 2001 to 2011, serving under both Coalition and Labor Governments. He chaired the Australia’s Future Tax System Review (the Henry Tax Review) in 2010. Following his retirement in March 2011 he was appointed as Special Advisor to Prime Minister Rudd and chaired the committee which produced the White Paper, Australia in the Asian Century, released in mid-2012. Ken Henry was the Chairman of the National Australia Bank until his recent resignation, and is Chairman of the Sir Roland Wilson Foundation at the ANU. He’s also a passionate campaigner for the endangered northern hairy nosed wombat.
